About Smile Train
Smile Train is the world’s largest cleft-focused organization, with a sustainable and local model of supporting surgery and other forms of essential care. Over the last 20+ years, we have supported safe, high-quality, and FREE cleft care for 1.5+ million children and will continue to do so until every child in need with a cleft has access to the care they deserve.
In India, we have supported 700,000+ surgeries to date, at more than 150 partner hospitals across the country. We aim to expand our footprint further into the most remote parts of India to make quality cleft care accessible to everyone in need.
Campaign Brief
A 360-degree campaign plan is required to inform and engage audiences across various platforms, including media, social media, traditional channels, and interactive digital experiences, developing a diverse and dynamic communications approach to raise awareness and empathy for cleft affected individuals.
The Campaign
A campaign was proposed to foster inclusivity and empathy towards Cleft Warriors (CWs) among children (5th to 10th grade) in schools.
The Video
The video shows my group going to Kendriya Vidyalaya, Delhi, where we interacted with children and letting them experience speaking with a finger on their upper lip palate.
The children were asked to say their name out loud with their finger on their upper lip palate.
They were then asked to share their experience with everyone.
They were then showed couple of videos of children affected with Cleft Lip Palate.
After that, they were asked to write supportive messages for Cleft Warriors.
